i am pleased to announce that candace conti, and her key lawyers rick simons and kelly kraetsch are planning a youtube video to answer any questions that people in our community may have regarding the recent conti v watchtower lawsuit.

i have offered to coordinate the gathering of these questions, and i thought it might be fun to do it in a "competition" style jwn thread, with the best answers being chosen by kelly, rick and candace to be addressed in the video.. as you can imagine, there are some provisos to this.... this is an active lawsuit, so for obvious legal reasons kelly, rick and candace will have the absolute and final decision as to which questions are answered and how much information is divulged when they are answered.we need the answers in the next 7 days, so the "cut off" for this competition is exactly 7 days from the time this thread goes live on jwn.we kindly request that all questions are asked in a respectful manner without any malicious or offensive intent.

any inappropriate questions will obviously be discarded and ignored.

AnnOMaly....where did you hear offically WTS tried to settle pre-trial....??? Is this fact or assumption because that's what WTS usually does?? I must have missed it somewhere.....

I like the Christmas lights, but not the Commercial part of Christmas

it's that time of year, again.

neighbours competing with each other for the best display of christmas decorations.

some are tackyy t, and some are very tastefull.

I "LOVE" the commercial part of Christmas!!! The sales have been fab!! I bought a few things for family who aren't JW's....but most of what I've bought has been for myself....... great deals on shoes/boots.....clothes.....nstuff.....yippeeeeeeeeeeeee........ Oh and I love how sparkly everything is.....makes me feel all warm and cozy inside.....

Also, do they already have a date set or guesstimate as to when the vid wil be up?

Conti: WTS Opening Brief Due in Appeal

the california state court of appeal has set january 7, 2013 as the deadline for watchtower to submit its opening brief (appellant's brief).

watchtower may seek a continuance or extension of the deadline for more time to prepare as these are easily obtained, at least in the initial stages.

on the other hand, the interest clock is ticking.

What is wrong with the Watchtower investing in hedge funds? For one thing, the Society is a tax-exempt organization based upon the supposition that it is a non-profit institution. (Not to be confused with its non-prophet status) But is it even ethical for a non-profit organization to operate as a hedge fund or to invest in hedge funds seeking maximum profits? At the very least it is questionable and may even violate the rules governing tax-exempt organizations. Ultimately, their avarice may well be their undoing, as it is not out of the question that they may at some point lose their tax-exempt status for this very reason........article continued...

the whole reason i even got dragged into this jw stuff, and we didn't just become somebody's return visit they never came back on, is because my mom claimed that the demons were talking to her.

they told her that the jws knew the truth about them, so she called the local kingdom hall.

bible study was started, and that was that.

Your mother maybe a functioning schizophrenic, also could have another kind of chemical imbalance (bi/polar)

I once had a friend who after she gave birth lost it for a bit. She would hear voices, thought people were poisioning the food (wouldn't feed her kids), also thought a train was going in circles around her house. Her husband took her in and it turns out having the baby knocked off her chemistry. Docs put her on meds to balance out which eventually worked.

Many who suffer from Dementia Alzhiemer's also suffer from delusional voices......

If she's also a fanatic/unbalanced person she could really believe she's hearing voices when she's really making it up in her own mind.....but I'd check for schizophrenia......

Note: For a long time I was so freaked out as a child, I used to think a demon was breathing on me in bed.....later found out it was an open air vent. I hated being a terrified JW child.........
